Ludlow Races 2017
Twenty two of us set out by coach from the lay-by outside the Crystal centre in glorious sunshine to take the drive over the Clee hills to the course. Shortly after the start Siward James-Moore served everybody with a glass of perfectly chilled Prosecco achieved whilst hardly spilling a drop. We paused on the journey on Clee hill to be served with smoked salmon and ham sandwiches, prepared by Tim our steward and another chilled glass of wine to keep us going until we reached the course.
There was some excellent racing and various levels of success at beating the bookies, two members of the party winning several hundred pounds and nobody going broke.
Two of the big winners are looking happy in the photo. In the other one can see the effect of the fresh air on the party. Everybody was happy and several of the group dropped into the club for a drink or two afterwards. We hope a few more may come next year, you don’t have to bet to have fun but a small flutter and commiserating or congratulating afterwards is part of the experience.
