The Annual President's Evening was held this year on 31st August .
President Brian Arch welcomed the 56 attendees on behalf of himself and Jocelyn and thanked all guests for their support at this event .
He did mention that John Milner was unfortunately not able to be present to perform his magic after all but, much to the relief of the President , he had kindly arranged for a first class substitute and it would be his son James who would entertain the guests .
After a short welcoming address, The President invited everyone into the main banqueting hall where the snooker tables had been expertly converted into a dining facility.
Jocelyn had personally prepared individual favours for all the ladies and these were to be found on the tables along with a little something for the gentlemen .Following the lead set in 2018 by Gaye Hadley, Jocelyn then said Grace and everyone was seated .
The feast for the evening was, as is traditional on such nights, one of Tim’s “Royal Buffets “ .
Each table was invited to the buffet table which was heaving with beautifully prepared salmon, cold meats, fresh salads, sauces and all kinds of accompaniments to suit all palates and all this was followed by a fabulous range of desserts, then cheese and finally rounded off by coffee .
While everyone was enjoying their meals ,James Milner meticulously visited each table throughout the evening displaying a range of skills with close up magic to baffle the guests .
Where did that £20 note come from? He followed with some further skills involving passing solid rings through each other, involving a number of guests in the presentation .
When everyone had finished their meal (No-one ever goes home hungry ) the President wound up the evening by thanking all who had attended for their company and all who had contributed to the evening.
Special mention was made of those from the Snooker team who had helped to set up the tables, Jem Norris and the Social Committee for organising the event, James for his hard work in making sure everyone was entertained and of course to Tim, Tracey and their helpers on the night for their impeccable presentation and service and for the quality of the buffet .
He finished by advising the attendees that that night was in fact Tim’s birthday and a short chorus of suitable songs from the guests was heard celebrating the occasion .
