Snooker Fun Shoot Out Thursday August 3rd 2017
On Thursday 3rd August, Stourbridge Old Edwardian Club held its inaugural Snooker Shootout competition. We were extremely grateful to Roy Gannon and Paul Churm, from the Halesowen Snooker league, for hosting the event.
The Snooker Shootout is known as the Twenty20 of snooker and has a 10 minute frame time limit and 15 seconds a shot time limit, along with a raft of other rules intended to make players more attacking.
Paul Churm, Jat Chager, David Woodall and Roy Gannon
10 members took part in the tournament with everyone thoroughly enjoying the night, with plenty of banter and sledging going on during each frame. The final was contested between David Woodall, not been seen in the club since May, and Jat Chager. David managed to hammer home his advantage and never looked in trouble as he ran away with the cup win.
Great thanks go to Tim Purslow for another excellent buffet and to Paul and Roy, who have been touring the Halesowen league clubs, running these nights for a local charity, yet to be decided. It is with great hope that we can hold this tournament next summer, with more members participating.
