On Thursday, June 1st 2017, the Snooker Pairs Challenge was held at the Club.
This is an annual event in memory of Dick Davies and Brian Pitt and this year there were more than 20 competitors.
After selection of pairs, the process was to decide an advance handicap for each pair (arranged by Stewart Barclay).
The competition was keenly contested with characteristic good humour . This year the finals pairs were Nick Hall and David Burrows; Paul Thatcher and Ed Davies.
A hearty buffet was provided by Tim and consumed prior to the final in order to optimise energy levels.
The match began with the customary friendly handshakes, quickly followed by strategic contemplation and action.
Paul Thatcher and Ed Davies emerged victorious and the prized trophy was awarded by the President - which clearly meant something to the winning pair!
