St. George's Day Dinner - April 24th 2017
More than 30 members and guests attended the annual Celebration of St. George's day . It was held in the magnificent Memorial Room at the Club and was organised by Alan Cutler with help from Jem Norris and others.
Siward James - Moore said Grace, following which a splendid dinner was served.
The main course of succulent Pot Roasted beef was a triumph and was served with copious amounts of delicious vegetables.
Tracey and her staff efficiently served the courses to the diners - who this time were arranged in tables of 8 to facilitate conversation and serving logistics.

After dinner, toasts were proposed to HM The Queen (President Mike Aston) and In Piam Memoriam Edwardi Sexti (Bob Lloyd-Jones).
There was a short comfort break and then a considerable time was spent in a Celebration of England in Prose and Poetry with significant contributions by both members and guests using pre-prepared scripts which had been masterminded by Alan Cutler.
As is customary, Martin Timmins concluded the evening with the pasage and call to arms for "St. George for England".
A good time was had by all with thanks to Alan Cutler and Jem Norris, all the contributors and of course to Tim and Tracey and the helpers for a lovely meal.
