The traditional Boar's Head supper was held in the Club on 22nd December.

Around 70 members and guests attended - a very good response.

President Clive Bowen-Davies and the Committee readied themselves in the Memorial Room prior to the formal procession.

Meanwhile past President Mike Aston valiantly engaged with attendees to persuade them to offer whatever contributions they chose to make when entering the building.

Those present then proceeded to the main lounge to engage in pleasantries over a drink or two.

The bar was cleared to make way for the procession.

President Clive carried in the boar's head - a magnificent feat considering its weight and his youthful years - with members of the committee in pursuit.

Once laid on the "feast table" Clive returned to thank everyone for coming and to wish everyone a Happy Christmas. He then proceeded to draw the 50-Lottery balls, ably assisted by new Committee member Arnold Homer. (All results of the 50-Club lottery and the winners may be found in the relevant sub section of the Members section of the website.

He then presented Rosanne Norris with flowers for her wonderful efforts in preparing the boar's head as she does every year (she selects a good looking one to parade) and gave a brief history of from where the tradition had originated.

Then it was time to tuck in to the feast - all prepared by Tim personally in quantity and in fitting style - mixture of turkey, ham, beef and other meat baps, all the trimmings, cheeses and biscuits etc.

A good time was had by all in celebrating the traditional event.
